Julian Assange ha fet una crida als seus seguidors i als enginyers "d'arreu" perquè ajudin a "exposar" i perquè treballin per superar els "mètodes de censura" de la Guàrdia Civil i el servei d'intel·ligència espanyol, el CNI. A parer de l'activista i fundador de Wikileaks, els dos s'estan "acostumant" a censurar "il·legalment" la premsa, els votants i el Govern de Catalunya.
Assange ha fet aquesta crida a través de Twitter després que hagi transcendit que la Guàrdia Civil ha notificat al CTTI l'ordre del TSJC per deshabilitar 29 aplicacions del Govern que podrien ser utilitzades en el marc del referèndum de l'1-O.
