La primera ministra de Escocia, Nicola Sturgeon, ha expresado este domingo su "firme oposición" a la decisión del Estado español de "buscar y encarcelar a los políticos independentistas", pero ha querido mantenerse al margen del proceso abierto en su país a raíz de la euroorden de detención contra Clara Ponsatí.
Después de fijar su posicionamiento político a favor del independentismo catalán, la líder escocesa ha señalado que la ley escocesa protege el derecho de Ponsatí de oponerse a la extradición a los tribunales y por lo tanto "es importante que el Gobierno escocés no diga nada que pueda perjudicar la integridad de este proceso". Además, Sturgeon ha dicho que, por ley, "los ministros escoceses no tienen el poder de intervenir".

3/ Importantly, the legal process includes the right of an individual subject to proceedings under the 2003 Act to oppose extradition in the courts - it is important that @scotgov says nothing to prejudice the integrity of that process.
