The Electoral Commission for the province of Barcelona has penalised Catalan public broadcaster TV3 for its coverage of the Concert for the Release of their Political Prisoners (link includes performance videos) in their evening news on 2nd December and for coverage on TV3 and its sister news channel, 3/24, of the demonstration in Brussels on 7th December.
The Commission has also fined public station Catalunya Ràdio for two editorials by the presenter of their morning show, El Matí de Catalunya Ràdio, the journalist Mònica Terribas, on 28th and 30th November.
The four fines, of 1,000 euros each (£880, $1,240), follow complaints presented by the PP. CCMA (Catalan Audiovisual Media Corporation) legal advisors are working on appeals.
