Spanish far-right Vox party will not support the other parties of the Spanish right, Popular Party (PP) and Ciudadanos (Cs), in Andalusia if they do not eliminate, "among other aspects", the point of their agreed coalition programme in which they undertake to implement "with sufficient budgetary support" all the measures included in the law of comprehensive prevention and protection against gender violence.

This was announced today by the extremist party on its Twitter account, with a message that criticized the PP and Cs for having committed themselves to "applying the measures dictated by gender-based ideology and the radical Podemos feminist associations."

Translation:
"PP and Ciudadanos have committed themselves to implementing "with sufficient budgetary support" the measures dictated by gender ideology and radical Podemos feminist associations. VOX will not support them if they do not eliminate, among other things, this point of their agreement."

The party's message of rejection of the anti-sexual discrimination policy was, then, particularly strong, causing the coalition to hang by a thread unless this difference can be resolved.

The leader of Vox in Andalusia, Francisco Serrano, also sent a tweet on the issue, warning the PP and Cs that "these pacts are supported by the Socialists (PSOE) and [left-wing] Podemos." "In social policy, everyone follows and blindly submits to, the orders of the gender dictatorship," said Serrano, who asked: "Where is the change?" - referring to the justification of the Andalusian pact with Vox in the need for change in a region that had previously elected PSOE governments for four decades.

Support essential

Specifically, point 84 of the agreement between the PP and Cs states that they will promote a broad agreement against gender violence in Andalusia to develop the "advances" made in this field by the right-wing pact and to implement, with sufficient budgetary backing, "each and every one of the measures envisaged" in the law passed last July on comprehensive prevention and protection against gender violence.

Vox's support in the Andalusian Parliament is essential for the PP and Ciudadanos to be able to form a coalition government.
