Spain's National Police force has published a photo of an extreme-right demonstration that took place today in Barcelona on its Twitter account. The text accompanying the photo is militant: "Because we're not alone, because we're all one, because we're all Spain, for our democracy, for the law," it reads.
The demonstration, which was held on Saturday morning, was called by extremist groups including Democracia Nacional, Somatemps and the Spanish fascist party itself, the Falange, among others, and involved a march between the central Barcelona squares of Plaça Urquinaona and Plaça Sant Jaume.

The attitude shown by the Spanish National police force on social media, coming the day before the referendum and with the possibility that its agents will play a role, has received criticism from sources ranging from former Catalan government minister Francesc Homs, to the leader of Spain's United Left party, Alberto Garzón.

Translation: It is a major error for Spain's National Police to take a political position and even more so to do it in this way.
