The Schleswig-Holstein High Court has calmed down the situation after the nervousness that was appearing over the forthcoming decision on the Spanish extradition request against Carles Puigdemont, and says that it does not foresee any special delay. The Court's spokeswoman, Judge Frauke Holmer, told to El Nacional that the German judges had not informed the Eurojust agency in The Hague of any postponement of the decision and that it remained within the same parameters. "There has been no notification [to Eurojust] in this regard. That is not true," he said.

Eurojust is the European Union agency responsible for judicial cooperation between the Member States, and it is here that a postponement would have to be communicated. In the Court's last communication, dated 1 June, it stated that it could decide on the situation in Puigdemont "at the end of June", but did not consider it to be completely closed. "It remains to be seen whether a decision will be reached by the end of June 2018," he said literally in an open-ended statement.

Coinciding with this situation, the Spanish Supreme Court judge Pablo Llarena informed the German court yesterday that his order, in which he ordered the trial of the president in exile and 24 other accused, is now definitive. This means that Llarena will no longer be able to send documents to the Schleswig Court, which, according to lawyer Gonzalo Boye, has been forced into a monumental job because the texts that have been processed are written in Spanish and not translated into German.

The final decision of the German judges, Martin Probst, Matthias Hohmann and Matthias Schiemann, is unknown and no German media speculate about it, although there has been pressure, such as an article by the Frankfurter Allgemeine advocating the extradition of Puigdemont for its political advantageousness.

On the other hand, the German daily Telepolis, linked to the left, has stated that Spain has not been able to prove that public funds were spent on the referendum, and it considers the accusation of rebellion rejected, as the court has already indicated.
