Junts per Catalunya deputy Elsa Artadi has confirmed this morning at the Catalan Parliament that the acting president, Carles Puigdemont, will travel to Denmark on Monday to take part in a debate organised by Copenhagen University about the political situation in Catalonia.

When Puigdemont left for Brussels, a Spanish judge issued a European Arrest Warrant for his detention and extradition. This was eventually revoked facing the risk that the Belgian courts would end up rejecting the request. The possibility of it being reactivated if he leaves Belgium has meant Puigdemont has so far stayed in the country.

Artadi admitted that "there is always a risk" that the Spanish government decides to reactivate the arrest warrant. "But we understand that president Puigdemont, given the warrant has been withdrawn, can move around Europe and they can't reduce his rights [to do so]", said Junts per Catalunya's campaign director. She also noted that Spain paid a "cost in terms of reputation" when revoking the first order. "We'll see how they behave now," she said.
