In order to vote to reinvest Pedro Sánchez as prime minister of Spain, Junts per Catalunya has said it wants dialogue "between equals, between governments", without "conditions" or "exclusions". More specifically, that includes, but is not limited to, allowing Carles Puigdemont to join the talks and bringing in an "international mediator".
In a press conference in the Catalan Parliament today, their spokesperson in the Congress in Madrid, Laura Borràs, has explained the requirements the party has decided upon to offer Sánchez their votes. They're still waiting for PSOE to call them to discuss the topic.
"No call, no gesture to contact us", said Borràs, who joked that it's "strange" that PSOE should talk about dialogue when it doesn't then contact those who want it.
The spokesperson said that, for JxCat to even switch its votes from 'no' to abstention, it's "fundamental" that there should be dialogue "between equals, from government to government, [...] without conditions".
There should also be no "exclusions" and PSOE should "recognise negotiation partners" including the current Catalan president, Quim Torra, exiled former president Carles Puigdemont and the pro-independence prisoners.
She added that it's "fundamental" that there should be the figure of an "international mediator" in any talks and that "any solution" proposed for the Catalan conflict has to be voted on.
