The judge Mercedes Armas has ordered the Civil Guard to provide her with a list of media outlets that have broadcast or published the referendum advertisement. She is the judge hearing the complaints presented by the Public Prosecutor last week against members of the Catalan government after the approval of the Referendum and Transitional Jurisprudence laws. In the interlocutory order, she asks for all outlets to be identified, except Catalan public broadcaster TV3 and radio station Catalunya Ràdio, who have already been warned by the justice system.

Once she receives the Civil Guard's report, the judge will send official notice to all the relevant editors warning them about illegal publications about institutional advertising and referendum propaganda. Armas will ask the outlets to withdraw the advert and will warn them "of the potential responsibility" there could be in the case they continue spreading them.

Armas has also asked the Catalan government to close the website www.garanties.cat, which describes the details of the vote and argues for its legitimacy. The judge ordered the Civil Guard to take care of this, because it would be "quicker and more efficient".

The Public Prosecutor's Office had asked for bail from the government officials implicated, but the judge denied the request.
