At least five pyrotechnic devices have been launched towards a helicopter of the Mossos d'Esquadra, Catalonia's police force, as it monitored this evening's protests in Barcelona, they have reported. The third night of protests following Monday's sentencing of pro-independence leaders. It has seen fires lit in the middle of streets which have damaged cars and threatened buildings.

The Catalan police used foam projectiles in their operation, which also involved National Police Corps officers. At least one of these hit an El Nacional photojournalist whilst she was working, identified as a member of the press. Reports also say that police vans have hit at least two protesters in Tarragona, in the south of Catalonia.

The Mossos have also claimed that Molotov cocktails have been thrown at police lines in Barcelona, where carrer Nàpols meets Gran Via. They recommend members of the public stay away and follow police instructions.
