A majority of Catalans give a failing grade to the Spanish state and its police forces (National Police Corps and the Civil Guard) for their actions during the 1st October referendum. Specifically, 62.8% of those surveyed don't approve of the Spanish government's role, a whole 37.8% giving it a zero out of ten.

That is according to the year's second omnibus barometer from the Catalan government's Centre for Opinion Studies, which dedicated a chapter to the referendum. As for the Spanish police, zero is again the most popular response, and 59.1% of respondents give them a failing grade (4/10 or less).

The Catalan government and the Mossos d'Esquadra (Catalan police), meanwhile, get good ratings: 65.3% of those surveyed approve of the government's role and 77.4% of the Mossos's.

The barometer also asked about different emotions that day could have caused, finding much caution, little confidence, much uncertainty and little hope.
