The proposed agreement between Junts per Catalunya (JxCat) and Esquerra Republicana (ERC) discusses the so-called Espai Lliure de Brussel·les (lit. "Brussels Free Space"), the part of the Catalan government in exile. This is confirmed in a document CUP, the smallest of the three pro-independence parties, has sent to its members, as a variety of media outlets have reported. This Espai Lliure would include bodies like the Consell de la República (Council of the Republic), presided over by Carles Puigdemont, and an Assemblea de Representants (Assembly of Representatives). It also suggest Jordi Sànchez as candidate for the presidency in Catalonia.

The Assembly would be formed by Parliament deputies, local representatives and civil society representatives. This body will monitor the Council of the Republic and its president, and would choose its members every time there are new elections to the Catalan chamber.

On the other hand, the Council of the Republic will include, according to CUP's document, the president, three members from JxCat, three from ERC and one from CUP.

The Espai Lliure will be constituted in a formal event in the Belgian capital.

In terms of the timetable, the document sent to CUP's membership says that this Thursday the Parliament will vote on JxCat's motion to legitimise Puigdemont, which will be formalised in Brussels on 5 March. Then, on 6th or 7th March, the investiture will take place.
