The 'Borrellgate' arrives at the Catalan parliament. The Bureau has decided to conduct an audit on corporate emails to see if communications have been hacked. The decision comes at the request of the Deputy Parliament Speaker of the Parlament, Josep Costa, who considers that the ministry of foreign affairs could have been spying on the Catalan Chamber.

This was explained in the Bureau meeting this Tuesday morning, where he emphasised that the reports that the Spanish foreign ministry compiled about the Catalan delegations -already labeled 'Borrellgate'- contained emails that spoke of a meeting with a Scottish MP for a visit to that country's Parliament.

Costa believes that, since the visit finally did not take place and was neither communicated to the Catalan delegation in the United Kingdom, this information could not be known by the Spanish ministry led by Josep Borrel. Josep Costa, therefore, considers that his email from Parliament could have been intercepted and spied on.

For this reason, he asked the Bureau to conduct an audit of the Catalan Chamber's electronic mail to detect possible security problems and prevent them. The rest of the groups have agreed. Catalan Parliament computer services will now verify that no "leakages" in the system have occurred and a data sweep may be considered in order to detect a possible external intervention.
