Nobu Hotels, the chain set up by, among others, chef Nobu Matsuhisa and actor Robert de Niro, will open its first location in Barcelona on 12th September this year. The new hotel is to be located in Torre Catalunya (Catalonia Tower), next to Barcelona-Sants, one of the city's most important stations. Nobu Hotel Barcelona will be the company's fourth hotel in Europe after Ibiza, Marbella and Shoreditch, London. They are already taking reservations for prices between 250 and 785 euros per night (£220-690; $280-870).

The hotel is to take over the current Gran Hotel Torre Catalunya. The current Selenta Group will maintain their ownership of the property and share management with Nobu.

The hotel will have 300 rooms between the 12th and 22nd floors of the skyscraper. The building's top floor, with 360-degree views of the city, will be home to a restaurant from Nobu Matsuhisa, who founded the chain alongside De Niro and producer Meir Teper. The venue will also have a spa, a meeting room and spaces for events.
