Best restaurants in Barcelona near the MWC 2023 Fira Gran Via venue

While there are so many amazing places and restaurants in Barcelona, during the MWC 2023, it can be hard to get too far away from the Fira Gran Via venue between sessions. Don't worry, because there are also some incredible dining options within walking distance of the Mobile World Congress 2023 venue. Check out these convenient restaurant options for some flavourful food, just a short walk away.

La Pepa

Only a 10-minute walk from the MWC venue, you can enjoy delicious tapas from La Pepa (Pl. d'Europa, 08908 L'Hospitalet de Llobregat), a Mediterranean restaurant specializing in traditional shared plates and paella. They serve delicious dishes from calamares to croquettes to quesadillas, so there are sure to be incredible options for everyone. If you just want a small bite and a drink, La Pepa has after-work specials where you can purchase a package that includes drinks and a few small snacks of traditional Barcelona food. This makes a great spot for food and drink between or after MWC 2023 sessions.

Restaurante Piripipao

For some very authentic Barcelona food, walk just about 13 minutes to Restaurante Piripipao (Carrer de l’Arquitectura, 20, 08908 L’Hospitalet de Llobregat). This restaurant has many seafood-inspired dishes that utilize unique food combinations. I would recommend doing a bit of research before because not many of the workers speak English if that is your preferred language. But once you get past the language barrier of ordering the food, the delicious taste speaks across languages.

La Tagliatella

If you are looking for more of a pasta-based dish, check out La Tagliatella (Av. Gran Vía 75-77 08908 L’Hospitalet de Llobregat) a popular Italian chain restaurant about a 15-minute walk from the MWC venue. La Tagliatella sells a range of filling dishes from traditional pasta and pizzas to calzones and seafood risotto. If you are in interested in dining at La Tagliatella Barcelona, it is recommended to get a reservation because tables fill up quickly.

Spiral Restaurant

A slightly pricier option, the Spiral Restaurant (Plaza Europa, 45 08908 L’Hospitalet de Llobregat) in the Porta Fira hotel is about a 10-minute walk away from the MWC venue, and has a classy and chic ambiance. The Spiral Restaurant takes a creative approach to making traditional Mediterranean dishes with a certain flare. While it is a more expensive option, it has deluxe daily menus that include rich foods of all sorts. It is a great way to spend a nice dinner sampling many different foods from Catalonia's cuisine

Barcelona's restaurants to enjoy during the Mobile World Congress 2023

After the MWC 2023 sessions wrap up, there is a lot of time to explore restaurants in Barcelona and try some traditional Catalan cuisine. Here are some recommendations for the best Barcelona restaurants to enjoy, accessible by public transport

El Sortidor

Although public transport is necessary to get to El Sortidor de la Filomena Pagès (Plaça del Sortidor 5) from the MWC venue, it is well worth it. They offer really unique dishes from black seafood spaghetti to veal with almond sauce and cinnamon aromas. The stained glass windows and turquoise tile bar provide a beautiful dining atmosphere in this historic restaurant, standing in Poble Sec since 1908. El Sortidor is definitely worth a visit.

Bar Copèrnic

For an affordable, yet authentic food spot, check out Bar Copèrnic (Consell de Cent 93). Bar Copèrnic is a great stop for some flavourful smaller Catalan dishes such as mussels and olives, patates braves or meatballs. Public transport is also necessary to get from the MWC venue to Bar Copèrnic, but it is a nice place to meet up with other people attending the conference to converse over delicious food.

Quirat

A higher-end option known for being sustainable and locally sourced is Quirat (Av. de Rius i Taulet, 1) This location requires a bit of public transport and is located inside the InterContinental Barcelona. The concept of Quirat is really interesting because they use their elegant cuisine to try to enhance the senses by encapsulating the purity of food in accordance with its natural landscape. They have a 24K menu and an 18K menu that includes small, but flavourful plates that cater to the natural senses. This innovative restaurant is the perfect spot for a dinner after a day of MWC sessions.
