5 best photo spots

Barcelona has a wide variety of lively spaces that will create perfect photo spots for any type of vibe you’re looking for. Whether you want a backdrop of the whole city or some of its unique locations, there are many opportunities to snap a great picture. To find some of the prettiest places that will get you a dream photo, check out these 5 photo spots to take an unbelievable picture.

The Telefèric de Montjuïc

The view from the top of Montjuïc is almost unbeatable. The reason I say almost unbeatable is that the journey to the top of the hillside inside the cable cars is even better. Suspended in the air on top of the hillside is the best place to see the entire city, along with the mountains and the coast. The tickets to the cable cars are cheap, and the trip to the top lasts about 5 minutes. From the Telefèric de Montjuïc, you will be able to see the Sagrada Família tower above the surrounding area. Barcelona looks remarkable from above, and the view from Montjuïc’s cable cars is breathtaking.

Park Güell

To ensure that this list isn’t exclusively filled with Antoni Gaudí’s famous architecture, I’ve decided to limit myself to just choosing one! However, Casa Batlló and the Sagrada Família are both great photo spots too, though you can easily see the Sagrada Família from Montjuïc as well. Park Güell has a view just above the rooftops of the surrounding area on top of the many icon structures within the park. Park Güell has incredible mosaics and architecture everywhere. Some places in the park are so unique they feel straight out of a fairy tale. The park has such a huge diversity of beautiful areas that it’s worth a visit for pictures that’ll turn some heads.

The Palau Nacional

The Palau Nacional, Catalan for national palace, houses the Museu Nacional d'Art de Catalunya. This art museum has extensive art collections from several periods, but aside from its historic art, the national palace is also situated just above Plaça d'Espanya. The view of the plaza is extraordinary, and just below the palace are huge fountains, which perform fountain shows at night depending on the time of the year. And to mention the obvious, the palace itself is gorgeous! Whether you’re looking for a picture above the historic plaza below with the fountains or the national palace itself, there are many great photo opportunities.

Barceloneta beach

Barcelona’s beaches have attracted tourists from around the world for decades. During the summer, the beaches are busy with tourists and locals looking to swim, sunbathe, play beach sports, or stop for drinks at a beach bar. Barceloneta beach is Barcelona’s busiest beach, with a great shoreline close to the city. It’s a wonderful place to get the perfect beach picture, and the W Barcelona hotel’s iconic sail shape makes for a unique backdrop.

Boqueria market

Located halfway down the Rambla, the Boqueria is the largest fresh fruit market in Barcelona. While a fruit market doesn’t usually come to mind as a beautiful place to take a photo, the Boqueria offers a unique experience. The market is fully covered, and it is illuminated with fresh fruit and juice stands. It has an incredible combination of bright colors and perfect lighting that make for a photo unlike any conventional photo spot. For a more unusual photo experience, the Boqueria is a fun place to visit!
