Ousmane Dembélé is now a Barça player. The young French footballer, 20 years old, is coming to Camp Nou to replace Neymar Jr.

Josep Maria Bartomeu's board of directors, after days of failed negotiations, has managed to reach an agreement with Borussia Dortmund for the transfer. Barça will pay an initial 105 million euros with a potential for 40 million more for the player who will sign a contract for the next five seasons, that is until 2022. He will have a release clause worth 400 million.

The footballer will wear the number 11. He will land in Barcelona on Sunday, on Monday he will have his medical examination and then will be presented with his new shirt.

Bartomeu headed up the Barça delegation that travelled to Monaco to attend the draw for the Champions League group stage and met with the German club. Dembélé's arrival had stalled over Dortmund's high financial demands, aware as they were that Barça had just received 222 million from selling Neymar. The technical secretary's office has achieved, at almost the last minute, one of its biggest objectives from the summer transfer window.

Barça's interest in Dembélé dates back to when he was playing for Rennes in France. Last summer, the offices of Camp Nou considered signing him for his current qualities and future potential. In the end, the player decided to accept the offer from Borussia Dortmund, aware that in Barcelona, who already had a very strong lineup headed by Messi, Neymar and Suárez, he would have limited play time. 15 million euros were paid by the Germans to sign him. Twelve months later, his valuation is almost ten times more.

At Dortmund, Dembélé has only needed a year to become an indisputable talent. His stats have not been those of a star, but he's shown a daring and a range of talents unusual in a player his age (speed, technique, ability with both feet). In 42 matches (31 in the starting 11) he's scored 8 goals.

Barça, needing reinforcements and pressed for time, has had to give in and adapt to Dortmund's wishes, intransigent from the beginning.

The new Barça footballer arrives, in principle, to occupy the left wing of the attack and to form part of a front row full of guarantees with the remaining Suárez and Leo Messi. However, Barça continues pushing Liverpool to accept an offer of more than 100 million for Philippe Coutinho, the other player on the club's wishlist for the transfer window this summer.l

Ernesto Valverde already has a reinforcement for his A-team. Ousmane Dembélé becomes the fourth signing of the summer after the arrivals of Gerard Deulofeu, Nélson Semedo i Paulinho Bezerra.
