The new Catalan protest platform Tsunami Democràtic ("democratic tsunami") is expanding its calls for action to Catalan universities and has asked campuses "to empty the classrooms so as to fill the streets on the day of the court verdicts." Thirteen different protests have been planned in the main tertiary institutions around Catalonia to "lead the mobilizations of response" when Spain's Supreme Court announces its decision on the fate of the Catalan political prisoners charged with rebellion and sedition. The announcement of the verdicts is expected before October 15th.

Tsunami Democràtic, the grouping formed to promote "non-violence and civil disobedience" in response to the verdicts, used social media to announce a series of meeting points for demonstrators at the main campuses of the University of Barcelona (UB), Pompeu Fabra University (UPF), University of Lleida (UdL), University of Girona (UdG) , Rovira i Virgili University (URV) and the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB).
