If voters could only choose between the leader of Spain's far right Vox party, Santiago Abascal, and Catalonia's president in exile, Carles Puigdemont, this would be the result by autonomous communities, according to a 1500-interview poll published by Electomania. Respondents were asked to choose between the two options only: Abascal or Puigdemont.

By communities, Puigdemont wins in Catalonia, Valencian Country, the Balearic Islands, the Basque Country, Navarra, Asturias, Galicia and the Canary Islands. In contrast, Abascal prevails in Aragon, Castilla La Mancha, Castilla León, La Rioja, Cantabria, Murcia, Madrid, Extremadura and Andalusia.

According to the poll, two out of three voters for the Spanish Socialists (PSOE) would vote for the Catalan pro-independence leader, Carles Puigdemont, ahead of Vox's Santiago Abascal.

Voters of the left wing Unidas Podemos (UP) favoured Puigdemont massively, while supporters of Ciudadanos (Cs), known for its strong pro-Spanish union line, preferred Abascal.
