Spexit, the Spanish anti-EU neologism that made an impact on social media late last year, has returned to the lists of trending topics today after a Belgian justice ruling to suspend the European Arrest Warrants against exiled Catalan president Carles Puigdemont and minister Toni Comín.

As soon as the Belgian court decision was released, Twitter was flooded with comments calling for Spain's withdrawal from the European Union.

Here are some of the tweets:

Translation:
"For Spain's departure from the European Union."

(Song lyrics (over images of Spain's Socialist and Podemos party leaders) include: "For the disappearance of the nation... immunity for murderers...")

"Belgian justice suspends the European Arrest Warrants against @KRLS Puigdemont and Comín, considering them immune.
Belgium, protectorate of ETA terrorists and jihadists, destroying Spanish judicial sovereignty at a stroke.
The carpet has been unrolled along the road to #SPEXIT."— Cristina Seguí

"Belgian justice suspends the European Arrest Warrants against @KRLS Puigdemont and Comín, considering them immune. A foreign country like Belgium deciding that Spanish sentences are worthless. If this is the EU, either we reform it, along with the Spanish legislature (the party responsible) or #SPEXIT" - Alvise Pérez
