A video that has gone viral on social media this weekend seems to show a group of Spanish professionals celebrating, over long drinks and accompanied by guitar chords, the hypothetical imprisonment of Catalan president Carles Puigdemont and the chief of the Catalan Mossos police force, Josep Lluís Trapero.

In cheerful mood, the protagonists of the party video show off festive dance moves, and sing the following lyrics, which they seem to find hilarious: "Puigdemont - they're going to put you in prison, and Trapero - will be his companion, and Junqueras watches and despairs". On social media the video has also been labelled with the hashtag #brindaporjordis - "Drink a toast for the Jordis", a likely reference to the pro-independence leaders Jordi Sànchez and Jordi Cuixart, who are already being held in a Spanish jail on sedition charges.

The filming of the party video seems to have coincided with the Spanish government's decision to take direct control over the government of Catalonia through the application of article 155 of the constitution, as well as the leaking to the press of the fact that Spain's public prosecutor, José Manuel Maza, has already prepared a charge of rebellion to be issued against Puigdemont should the independence of Catalonia be proclaimed.
