Exiled Catalan education minister Clara Ponsatí has taken part in a live show presented former Scottish prime minister Alex Salmond. On Friday night, she stepped on to the stage as a special guest in the show in Dundee and on Saturday will be doing the same in Edinburgh. The Catalan pro-independence minister Ponsatí is accompanying the ex-Scottish leader, also in favour of independence for his country, in the show which he has been touring for some time around the cities of Scotland.

As Scottish newspaper The Courier explained, some audience members waved Catalan estelada flags in support of Ponsatí. "One person stood up to reveal he and his wife are no longer buying Spanish goods and avoiding visiting the country" in protest against the actions of Mariano Rajoy's government, according to The Courier.

During the show, the exiled minister thanked the Scots for their support, saying: "I have received so much support and so much affection. Honestly I never thought I was going to be the object of so much love", as the Scottish daily explained.
