Spain's National Police force were one of the main focuses of attention in this Sunday morning's massive unionist demonstration, and officers of the force received ovations of all kinds. In front of their Barcelona headquarters, in Via Laietana, one of the protesters climbed on to a barrier to show his admiration by giving the fascist salute repeatedly.

One of his fellow marchers, wearing an identical T-shirt, took hold of his arm and gestured that it might be a good idea to stop, but he did not seem to be deterred.
