The United Kingdom will consider the European Arrest Warrant issued by Spain for former Catalan minister Clara Ponsatí. Earlier this week they had said they would take "no further action [...] at this time", until Spain provided additional information.

Today, examining magistrate Pablo Llarena provided some supplemental information; now Britain will move ahead with the process of considering the warrant. It means that if Ponsatí were to now try to leave the country, she would be arrested.

Originally, after a specialist UK lawyer had reviewed the request, British authorities responded to Spain that the warrant was "disproportionate". They later withdrew that description, but maintained the request for additional information on the charges in the warrant, or any prior criminal record Ponsatí might have.
