Pro-independence party Esquerra Republicana (ERC) would win a new Catalan Parliament election, beating both Junts per Catalunya (JxCat) and Ciutadans (Cs). That's the result from the second CEO (Catalan Centre for Opinion Studies) survey of the year, published this Friday. According to the poll, if a new Catalan election were held today, ERC would win between 35 and 37 seats, whilst Ciutadans would drop to 29-30. Next would be JxCat, with 27-29 deputies; PSC, with 19-21; CatECP, with 8-10; CUP, with 8-10, and PP, with 3-4.

With these results, the pro-independence majority in the chamber would not only be maintained, but could increase from 70 to between 70 and 76 seats between the parties. For their part, pro-union parties would get between 51 and 55 representatives; they currently have 57.

Among the pro-independence parties, the clear winner is ERC, who would jump from 32 to 35-37 seats and from third place in the election in December last year to first place now. CUP would recover some of the ground they lost in December, going from 4 to 8-10. On the other hand, JxCat would fare worse, dropping from 34 deputies to 27-29.

On the unionist side, Cs's fall from 36 deputies to 29-30 would be capitalised on by PSC, who would gain between 2 and 4 seats on the 17 they currently have. PP could lose one of the four deputies they currently have in the chamber.

The other party with current representation in the Parliament, Catalunya en Comú-Podem, would get between its 8 current deputies and 2 more.

As for the ratings of individual politicians, former vice-president Oriol Junqueras (ERC) gets the best score, 6.16 out of 10. He is followed by his successor as vice-president, Pere Aragonès (ERC - 5.49), CUP deputy Carles Riera (5.44), CatECP leader Xavier Domènech (5.14), president Carles Puigdemont (5.01) and president Quim Torra (4.89). The lowest-scoring are Inés Arrimadas (Cs - 2.57) and Xavier Garcia Albiol (PP - 1.52).
