Strasbourg's new sentence against Spain has reached The New York Times. The US newspaper has this Tuesday reported on the European Court of Human Right's decision that freedom of speech covers burning photos of monarchs.
The newspaper's correspondent in Madrid, Raphael Minder, however, doesn't limit himself to discussing the one specific case, but writes that it follows "a series of challenges to freedom of expression by social media users as well as rappers and other artists.

Minder notes that the case dates from before the growth of the Catalan independence movement, since when burning photos of the monarchs has become much more common.
The article also mentions a recent Amnesty International report entitled "Tweet if you dare" which opens "Freedom of expression in Spain is under attack".
