Left-wing, green Danish MP Pelle Dragsted has today revealed to Catalunya Ràdio the pressure the University of Copenhagen received from Spain to not invite president Carles Puigdemont. Dragsted linked the pressure to the role the university gave to professor Marlene Wind, a strong critic of the independence process, in the debate.

"The University of Copenhagen has been strongly pressured by different authorities. Many people have written to them saying that it was bad to have invited Puigdemont. And they saw it as necessary to demonstrate that they aren't in favour of independence" by also inviting Wind, he told the program El Matí de Catalunya Ràdio.

"Marlene Wind is quite provocative, and her role was to ask provocative questions. But her opinions don't represent the majority of Danes," he added.
