Sign-ups for the large pro-independence demonstration organised by the Catalan National Assembly for the Diada, Catalonia's National Day on 11th September, continue to grow. With a fortnight to go, the civil society organisation has today announced on Twitter that so far 75,000 people have said they are definitely attending.

"There are 75,000 of us signed up for the Diada, but we have to be many more than that to fill the streets. We want to start September with some section red. Let's go!", they wrote on Twitter. On their map, only two sections are left in the darkest green (showing "low" occupation) and the first few have started turning orange ("high" occupation); a section turning red means it is "full".

Although sign-ups had started off slowly this year, the rate has picked up in recent days following calls to register from leading politicians and public figures.
