Football coach Pep Guardiola is not one afraid to speak his mind when it comes to politics. Today, he's joined the #MakeAMove campaign organised by the civil society organisation Catalan National Assembly, posting a photo on his Twitter profile holding a placard reading "Self-determination is a right, not a crime".

It's not the first time he's commented on the tension between Catalonia and Spain. In the press conference before Manchester City played in the League Cup final this February, he said that "They've demonstrated that they've been accused of crimes that they didn't really commit". He's also visited some of the leaders in prison and is regularly seen wearing a yellow ribbon, they symbol of support for the prisoners. But the trial is not the only hot-button issue he's been involved with: last summer he reportedly paid for repairs to a migrant-rescue boat impounded in Italy.
