Catalonia’s pro-independence organizations have called for a massive demonstration on November 12th in response to today’s decision by a judge in Spain’s National Court to jail most of the Catalan government. The two major groups, Omnium Cultural and the Catalan National Assembly, made the announcement through their Twitter accounts, and they also called for a full week of peaceful and civic actions to begin in Catalonia.

Translation: [First tweet] The judge in Spain’s National Court has decreed PRISON WITHOUT BAIL FOR THE 8 CATALAN MINISTERS who went to declare in Madrid, accused of crimes of rebellion, sedition and misuse of public funds.
[Second tweet] It is intolerable that they have imprisoned representatives of the legitimate Government. For this reason we begin a week of peaceful and civic actions all over Catalonia, which will end in a major DEMONSTRATION on Sunday 12th November.

The pro-independence groups also announced that the actions in response to the jailings, already underway with protests outside the Catalan Parliament and all of the town councils in Catalan county capitals this Thursday night at 7pm, will continue with a pots-and-pans banging protest at 10pm. The actions on Friday will carry on with rallies in front of town halls once more at seven in the evening. This coming Sunday, November 5th, the independence groups also propose to carry out a massive postering campaign all over the country. And the week of demonstrations will end a week later on Sunday 12th November with a mass demonstration in Barcelona.

This protest will take place three days after the court appearance by Carme Forcadell, speaker of the Catalan Parliament, which is scheduled for Thursday, November 9th.
