Barcelona's Kreis Deutschsprachiger Führungskräfte (Circle of German-speaking Managers) has this Tuesday asked the Spanish prime minister, Mariano Rajoy, to negotiate with Carles Puigdemont to unlock the situation in Catalonia.

In statements to Catalan public broadcaster TV3, the Circle's president, Albert Peters, called on Rajoy to accept the result of the 21st December election and to show himself open to Puigdemont being invested president at a distance.

The Circle is an association formed of around 250 business people resident in Catalonia which, on occasion, has shown itself to be against independence. Now it does so again, calling for there to be no unilateral decisions, but for there to be dialogue between the two governments. They say they are suffering consequences due to the political situation and complain there are investments suspended.
