David Font, mayor of Gironella, a small Catalan town, filmed the emotional moment president Carles Puigdemont and the ministers with him in Brussels entered the room in Brussels' BOZAR Palais des Beaux-Arts for this afternoon's event with almost 200 Catalan mayors.
Those present in the room gave the five politicians a standing ovation as they entered. Puigdemont hugged the president of the ACM (Catalan Association of Municipalities), Miquel Buch, while attendees shouted "president, president".
