Yesterday evening, a group demonstrated against the police repression Catalonia is suffering and in favour of democracy in front of the UN Office at Geneva in Switzerland.
The protesters surrounded the Broken Chair sculpture in front of the Palace of Nations with candles and carried a banner reading "Help Catalonia" and an estelada "starred" pro-independence flag. The sculpture symbolises opposition to land mines and cluster bombs and was originally erected to encourage countries to sign the 1997 Ottawa Treaty. The rally was organised by the Catalan National Assembly - Switzerland.
They also set up another banner reading, in French, English and German: "Together for democracy and fundamental rights in Catalonia".
