Catalan territorial minister Damià Calvet has detailed in a Twitter thread the health measures which apply as of this Monday, May 4th, for those taking public transport in Catalonia.
"A compulsory mask and a [maximum] occupancy of 50% of seats and two users per square metre in standing areas," wrote Calvet. “On platforms, passages and lobbies in stations, care should be taken to maintain safe distances,” he added.

With regard to the frequency of services to be provided, Calvet confirmed that "these [health] requirements will be adapted and, over the next few days, we will implement the physical measures to facilitate them." In other words, more trains will be scheduled if necessary but it may not happen this Monday.
Although the minister informed that masks are being distributed, he said that "those who can, should bring their own". "Let's maintain distances using common sense; and those who can, should continue distance working or adapt their timetable to avoid peak hours," he added.
The new requirement to wear masks in public transport was announced for the first time on Saturday by Spanish prime minister Pedro Sánchez, as part of Phase 0 of the deconfinement plan for the Spanish state which has now taken effect.
