The Catalan health ministry has confirmed a total of 135 new positives in Catalonia for coronavirus SARS-CoV-2. Since the beginning of the pandemic, six people have died in Catalonia with Covid-19, three of these linked to the outbreak in Igualada have been added to the total since yesterday. The three fatalities in this cluster of the virus were two women aged 71 and 83; and an 86-year-old man, all of whom had major previous pathologies.

Of the total cases in Catalonia, 25 are in serious condition. In relation to health professionals, there are a total of 49 confirmed positive to Covid-19 and 400 who are in isolation. Three people have recovered.

Based on the health ministry's data, which reported a total of 181 infections in Catalonia on Wednesday, the new total for Thursday is 316. Today's rise thus constitutes a 75% rise in the total in one day

Spanish total surpasses 3,000

Earlier in the day, 816 new cases of coronavirus were confirmed in the Spanish state has a whole. The Spanish health ministry announced that Spain now has a total of 3,004 Covid-19 cases and its total has increased by 37% in the last 24 hours

In Spain, 189 people are recorded as having recovered from the virus while 84 deaths have occurred. The largest proportion are in the Community of Madrid (1,388), followed by the Basque Country (346), with Catalonia as the third most-affected community of Spain. 

The Spanish total, announced earlier today, does not include the updated Catalan figures.
