Catalan minister Clara Ponsatí, in exile in Scotland, has today sent a message in defence of the Council for the Republic after taking part in a working meeting for it.

"The Council for the Republic will defend the republican mandate from the First October [last year's independence referendum] abroad. We are and will be immune to the repression and the blackmail of the kingdom of Spain. We have a lot of work to do and everyone is needed. Sign up here!," she tweeted.

Today's meeting was also attended by president Carles Puigdemont and ministers Toni Comín and Lluís Puig. Comín is the council's coordinator. "This morning we've held an intense working session with the ministers Toni Comín, Lluís Puig and Clara Ponsatí to continue deploying the Council for the Republic. The next step: 8th December," wrote Puigdemont.

The second phase of the Council will be presented in Belgium on 8th December in a meeting with elected officials.
