Today we speak with a member of Catalunya en Comú-Podem, the only candidacy to be neither explicitly pro-independence or pro-unionist. Marta Ribas is number 4 on their Barcelona province list for the 21st December Catalan election. She tells us whether she thinks a referendum agreed upon by Spain and Catalonia could ever happen and more. Meanwhile, pro-independence parties believe launching bilateral talks with Spain and the European Union could make the realisation of a Catalan Republic possible. While they draft their manifestos, pro-independence parties also keep asking for the release of the candidates that are still in preventive detention. Their case might be transferred to the Spanish Supreme Court where some argue they have a greater chance of being released, even if only on bail, which would allow them to take part in campaigning.
