The Catalan Parliament has scheduled a hearing of the commission investigating Madrid's direct rule over Catalonia between 2017 and 2018 for 22nd January for which they've summonsed as witnesses some of the political prisoners. Namely, they have called on vice-president Oriol Junqueras and ministers Jordi Turull, Raül Romeva, Joaquim Forn, Josep Rull and Dolors Bassa, all removed from office by the Spanish government using article 155 of the Constitution.
Having been summonsed as witnesses, the prisoners should appear before the commission, but it will depend on whether the judge gives them permission or not. The deputies have also summonsed, although without dates yet, Spanish prime minister Pedro Sánchez and his deputy Carmen Calvo, as well as their immediate predecessors, Mariano Rajoy and Soraya Sáenz de Santamaría, among many other notable figures.
