Jailed pro-independence Catalan leaders requested to know the start date of their trial far enough advance, up to three weeks, alleging that less time wouldn’t guarantee their right to defense. The actual date hasn't been announced yet; the judges are considering February 12. President Quim Torra will visit the incarcerated officials tomorrow, before they’re transferred to prisons near Madrid. Meanwhile, the Catalan foreign minister met with members of the UK Parliament in London. One of them, Welsh MP Hywel Williams, talked about concern in Westminster over the independence trial.
