April 23 is a very special day in Catalonia. It's the diada de Sant Jordi, or Saint George's day in English, the celebration of the country's patron saint. This year was a great day for Catalonia’s flowersellers, with a total of seven million roses sold. Every April 23, Catalonia honours its patron saint Sant Jordi in one of the country’s most popular festivals of the year, in which couples express their affection by exchanging books for roses. As the classic symbol of love, that means millions of red roses are sold every year. In today's show we head to the streets of Barcelona to find out just what makes Sant Jordi so special here.
