Germany rejected considering an extradition request against Catalan leader Carles Puigdemont for rebellion. German judges said there was no violence in Catalonia. But Spain wants him back –and for a serious crime that could carry a prison sentence. So the Spanish Supreme Court is considering changing the charge he faces for sedition. Would this make extradition any easier? Or could it play against Spain's interests, suggesting that it is trying to force an extradition at any cost? Meanwhile the parliament's speaker is due to visit the UN in Geneva to denounce the Catalan situation.
