The executive committee of ERC (Catalan Republic Left), minority partner in the Catalan government, has agreed to abandon the government if president Carles Puigdemont does in the end call elections and dissolve the Parliament. They will not make a final decision, however, until such a time arrives, if it does, that is.
ERC's leadership has shown their disagreement with the possibility of calling early elections in the face of the Spanish government's threat to intervene in Catalonia's autonomy. They have restated their commitment to the result of the 1st October referendum.
