The prime minister of Belgium, Charles Michel, will reply on Wednesday morning to a number of questions from different parliamentary groups about the dispute over Catalonia and president Puigdemont taking refuge in Brussels. Catalonia has burst into Belgian politics, after the support of various ministers, like the Interior minister, for Catalonia's claims, although Michel has ordered the issue to be left aside within the cabinet.

Belgian media take it for granted that the prime minister will not comment on the working or decisions of the justice system, because the country has a very clearly defined separation of powers. The debate, however, will appear in the Interior commission of the Belgian legislature, after making the country's front pages practically every day.

Puigdemont has repeatedly said in interviews that his dispute is with Spain, not Belgium, that he is in Brussels because it is the centre of Europe.
