After days of silence, Neymar Jr has dispelled the doubts about his future. This morning the Barça player said goodbye to those who have been his team-mates for the last four years, and confirmed that he is going to Paris Saint-Germain. After the meeting, the Brazilian striker left Barcelona's Sports Complex in Sant Joan Despí and is not expected to train more with the team. Therefore, the Barça-Madrid match played in Miami was his last in the Barça shirt.

Neymar spent the days after the American tour in various promotional events in China, whilst the dresssing room enjoyed two free days. The player arrived yesterday at El Prat airport on a flight from Dubai in the evening, but kept silent when he got off the plane. That same Neymar, seeing that the situation was already untenable, wanted to take the next step.

His colleagues wanted the future of Neymar to be resolved as soon as possible so that it did not continue to distort the daily sports routine, as happened on tour to the United States. With the confirmation of his departure, it only now remains for PSG to find a formula to pay the €222m termination clause of his contract, a figure that will make the transfer the most expensive in the history of football.

President Josep Maria Bartomeu said during the preseason tour that the club's intention was for the Brazilian to continue at Camp Nou, but he also referred to the €222m: "We want Neymar to continue, but there is a clause of termination. If he wants to go, then the clause needs to be paid, right to the last euro, the last cent and the last dollar." To all this, the president of the Professional Football League, Javier Tebas, warned in an interview to the newspaper As, that the League will reject PSG's money: "We will not accept the money of a club that, without belonging to the League, wants to take advantage of a rule of our organisation, and even more so when this club is infringing upon the rules and laws of financial 'fair play'."

Barça, after depositing the €26m renewal premium that corresponds to Neymar's father in a notary's office, could enter into negotiations with PSG and do so from a predominant position. Despite Bartomeu's words, the French club would save many millions in tax if it manages to reach an agreement with Barça and does not pay the termination clause. Marco Verratti, midfielder at PSG and one of Barça's great targets during the summer market, could enter the equation and accelerate a pact between the two parties.
