The 720 Catalan mayors summoned to testify after saying they would support the upcoming independence referendum in their towns have started to parade before the Public Prosecutor. The independence movement took to the streets to support them. Dozens of people gathered outside the High Public Prosecutor's Office of Catalonia, where Marc Solsona, mayor of Mollerussa and deputy in the Catalan Parliament, was to testify, starting the process. "You're not alone" shouted the crowd as he entered.

Also to attend, unannounced, were independence leaders, like the speaker of the Parliament, Carme Forcadell, the president of Junts pel Sí (Together for Yes) in the Parliament, Lluís Corominas, the co-ordinator of PDeCAT (Catalan European Democratic Party), Marta Pascal, and the JxSí deputies Ramona Barrufet, Germà Bel and Anna Simó. Also to show up was CSQP (Catalonia Yes We Can) deputy and member of the Board of the Parliament, Joan Josep Nuet, facing charges for having admitted the Referendum Law for consideration.

In other parts of Catalonia where other mayors were summoned to testify, members of the public also gathered to express their support. This was the case at the Public Prosecutor's Office in Seu d'Urgell where the mayors of Pont de Suert, José Antonio Troguet and of Oliana, Miquel Sala, both of Partit Demòcrata (Democratic Party) were to testify.
